Every so often I think about how I seem to gravitate towards what are categorized at "Fish out of Water" TV shows and movies. I don't watch TV much at all anymore, although lately I've been going through all the episodes of Third Rock from the Sun on Netflix. It's one of the last TV shows I watched regularly - before "reality" shows started to get popular.

A lot of other shows and movies I like all follow similar themes:

The Beverly Hillbillies
ALF
Elf (the movie)
Futurama

There are probably lots more I'm forgetting at the moment. I wonder if other people on the spectrum relate to these kinds of shows, where the protoganists are out of their normal environment, leading to hilarious misunderstandings? For some reason, this theme really resonates with me.

How about a "dead fish in the water" character like SNAFU's Hachiman Hikigaya? :P

I'm afraid I don't know what that is, but if it's along the same lines... sure! :)
