Are there different kinds of Aspies?

Ok..i am relativly new to the concept of Aspergers though I relate to it enourmously..i think?..at the moment...?(though sorta wish maybe that i had not discovered it..because if I hadn't I wouldn't be hyperfixated on it as I currently am)

Anyway...I have already gone into my symptoms on some other posts..and don't really feel like going back into it at the moment....It seems alot of aspies are very serious and analytical.and into computer work...I am very noodly..non-mathematical...goofy..childlike...(I am 31 and have been called an 8 year old..really I am stuck somewhere in my teens I think)...I write alot...draw really bad comics..do all sorts of art...have been singing on stage since the age of 11

I am definitely not an "NT" and I definitely had alot aspergers traits...have identified myself an an ADDer for years..

Anyway..how do you folks as aspies differ from one another?

I am a laid-back, flexible, creative Aspie. I am one of those who is eager to try new things and venture into unfamiliar territory, and often deviate from the normal way of doing things. I was diagnosed with AS in 1996 at age 16.

hi! welcome!

i'm sure there's as large a myriad of AS/autism ppl as there are NT ppl

think the DX criteria is a bit ambigous, so i doubt you could expect anything but that. i think the catch phrase is: it's a spectrum

i'm self DX and w/e i would be DXed as... i simply find comfort in relating to all the ppl on this board, regardless of their DX

i suggest to just keep reading the forums and asking questions. there are many helpful knowledgabe people here

Even NTs are supposed to have that problem, but most never get to a level where it is really noticable.

I am such a mixture that I cannot even figure out myself who, exactly, I am lol. I am often serious, analytical, logical...but also, I can be very quirky, naive, childish, full of wonder and irrational, especially when hurt or angry. I think each person, AS or not, is a total individual.

I think you'll find all types on here. I'm very poor at math, and no matter how I tried to learn programming, couldn't even make it past page 1 ! !!
However, I do like fiddling with the hardware bits ! !
We all share a warped sense of humor, so you'll fit right in ! !

I'm unique in the fact the hemispheres of my brain are poorly linked. This means I have cross dominant hands and I'm extremely creative while retaining a great degree of logic.

Yes, there are many different types. I'm definitely more outgoing and creative than most people with AS, but I do have the obsessions and I am also very emotional.
