I have a hunch that many (or perhaps even most) Aspies say this, multiple times, at least to themselves, on April first each year. I know my own prank-detection abilities are sub-par; I often just don't get pranks, until much later than others. Often, an actual, detailed explanation is needed. Even then, I often think, "but why? What is the point of this?"

Do others here experience the same thing, or something similar?

Yep, I hate it. Most of the time I do buy into it. Fortunately these days most of the fools are are way too obvious.

I love this day and the pranks are funny. Sometimes I fall for them too. I find it fun to pull pranks and see who falls for it and who takes it seriously and refuses to believe it was a joke. Sometimes people play along with it as part of the joke.

I don't get the difference between Funny Prank and Mean Prank. Three guys tried to shove my physically disabled wife down an escalator yesterday. Not getting it at all. Wish i was there. i would have happily stomped their kneecaps.

Funny pranks are supposed to be harmless. Shoving someone down a flight of stairs isn't harmless.

One of my favorite pranks I like to do on April fools, it to go to the Burger King restaurant, and use a 2-way radio that's been programmed to the frequency of their drive-thru speaker. And mess around with the drive-thru customers all day.

I hate it. When I was growing up I was the village idiot. People picked on me, made fun of the way I spoke, pushed me off my bike, stole my boots, off my feet, was attacked, etc. Technically, those are pranks. Why would I want to do that to someone when I despise it?
