Fact is:

Not all Neurotypicals have a happy life.

Not all Aspies live a depressed life.

Yet the reason so many people here justifiably complain about being on the spectrum is because of the "more likely" factor, in addition to their frustrations in life.

The reason people tell you not to eat Big Macs or unhealthy foods is not because they will give you heart attacks, it's because you are much MORE LIEKLY to get them.

There are healthy people who get heart attacks at age 60, and there are unhealthy/obese people who live long lives.

So I believe venting about Asperger's and it's difficulties should be ok once in a while, because stuff that happens to a small minority of NTs happen to a large portion of the Autistic community.

There are actually more starving people in India than Africa, but everyone talks about Africa because a HIGHER percentage of those in Sub-Saharan Africa suffer extreme poverty. (50% vs 27% in India)

As far as dating troubles, here's one piece of data:

By age 30: 95% of US adults have had sex, according to the CDC. So the 5% is a tiny minority of the NT population, but I estimate half of Autistic males will be virgins by that age.

Who ever said you can't vent?
