How do I make it easier for my 9 year old son to 'lose'? Appreciate I should probably post this in the parents' section, but I also have an ASD diagnosis, and sometimes I think this compounds the problem.

I want to 'toughen him up' to the realities of losing (although it seems to be more of a problem with games with me/family than outside the house, thank goodness) but don't want to push him too far if it's just simply too much for him to take on. At the moment, a loss at a board game precipitates a meltdown, screaming, etc.

The main difficulty for me (as I suspect for other parents) is in finding that balance between "moving him on" and putting too much pressure on. I guess this is the same for everyone to some degree, but I can't help but feel that we have it worse than most.

Any suggestions to help with this would be much appreciated.
