I've got my pre-diagnostic assessment meeting on the 20th. I know it was arranged through an unusual route to speed up the process on the NHS.

One of the things that will be discussed at the meeting is ' the urgency of the case' (or, where I'm going to be filtered onto the waiting list).

I would assume risk of homelessness/need for supported housing would be right at the top of the list, alongside difficulty with raising children (social services cases) and difficulties with employment.

Given that I'm eligible for a 3 year mental health programme, although it was not a good fit and I am now waiting on the decisions re: autism to influence where I should be referred next, I feel as though there must have been a reason they considered me for an expedited process in the first place but I can't really think why it would be.

For anyone who has done a pre-diagnostic assessment similar to this: what sort of topics were covered?

My intake interview, the first time I sat down with the psych, it was pretty much a two-hour verbal survey of my history; what was my childhood like, did I get along with my siblings, have I ever used drugs or alcohol, does anyone in my family have a mental illness/neurological condition, etc. Afterwards, I was asked about why I thought I had autism. I had waited for months to give my answer, but when the time came, I froze, so I just gave the psych a ten-page document I'd created in the weeks before which outlined all my symptoms from birth to the present. We talked a little about the tests I'd be taking in the upcoming sessions, and that was really it. The rest of the testing took place over the course of several weeks, and I finally got my diagnosis and report two months and four days after my intake interview, a year ago tomorrow as it happens.
