Does anybody else go into a sort of trance like state when they are exposed to loud noises for too long? Yesterday i was asked by my neighbor to help him hold some stuff while he cut it with an electric saw. I didn't know that the saw would be so loud and after a while i became sluggish and couldn't understand what he was telling me to do half the time. He eventually got pissed off and told me to leave. I stayed in that weird state for at least 30 minutes after i left. So i was wondering if this is a normal thing for people with aspergers to go through or if it was just something that happened to me personally.

Not with noises but sometimes if there is a lot going on or I'm concentrating on being social for my job and it gets too difficult to keep it up for a long time. Then I get just like that.

I go into trances pretty easily and I could see something like a buzzing sound doing that. A trance or shutdown is usually from sensory overload.

I don't know if its the "trance" you're talking about, but I do get some weird effects when exposed to loud, multiple noises for a certain period of time. My vision gets blurry, everything I ear seems to be slower and also I get a bit of a buzzing noise in my head. It also makes me think/react slower but faster at the same time, its kindof hard to explain. Does this sound familiar to you?

Yeah that sounds a lot like what happened to me. I also found it hard to keep my balance.
