ohh yea, thats me, one sip=barely walk, and bad taste and the motor coordination of a person who has severe cerebel palsey. what i wonder, how does that feeling make you feel "good" is it because of the double vision??? if it is, i dont find any joy in that!! i have had strabizmus in past and still have it and its not the most fun thing to have with a drink.

but i guess its my body's way of saying no to alcohol, im fine and happy with that it doing this, alcohol is bad for ya anyway,

I think I drank because I have AS.It made me forget how stupid and boring most people are(or not care).I didnt care much about falling down either, everyone else was,I finally fit in.

heres a bit of poem I wrote about it...

"She crawls in part to avoid sound
She crawls for fear of falling down"

I did my share of crawling, talk about regression.Alcohol is poison.

yep. one glass of wine and i cannot speak coherently., it's a struggle to do so at the best of times, and alcohol just blows that out of the water. two and i usually just want to curl up in a corner and nap.

I don't drink because I know it's wrong and I don't want to harm my body. The same goes for drugs and smoking as well.

drinking in moderation isn't all that bad for you. I drink (a lot less than I used to) because I like beer and wine, some cocktails. I can loosen up a bit and have fun. It doesn't make me any more or less social, though if I do talk, I'm more assertive and "Myself". I have never understood drinking to pass out or black out, never did that. My husband is the same way.

Almost all alcohol is too strong for me, my mouth is so sensitive. I would love to try and get drunk, but I never have because I can't stand the taste of any liquor. 25 and never been drunk.

"A pint of Best Bitter please!"

No, I go to the pub three times a week usually. Sometimes, I can get argumentative when I've had a drink but I never get violent. And when I've had enough I just go home. I'm dyspraxic myself and it can become a problem but I'm uncoordinated and don't see things I should when I'm sober anyway, so that's no big deal. I haven't fallen into anyone yet so I must be lucky! :D

i usually just surf the internet when i get drunk or rock out to some music, sometimes (rarely) i paint or draw drunk

If you're on meds for your AS, then of course alcohol isn't a good idea.

I don't like to take anything that is going to impair my judgment. I just don't like the way it feels. I don't like the taste of alcohol with the exception of some of the more fruit flavored drinks, but those upset me stomach sometimes. My step-sister who is also an Aspie, suffers from depression and anger issues is an alcoholic who is currently in rehab. She's only 24 and her liver is starting to have some problems if she doesn't permanently stop. She was drinking 4-5 pints of vodka a day.

Alcohol used to make me feel miles better, the problem was I had no inhibitions and would talk to anyone, it could be fun but me and baron booze was a precarious mix. The following day I would be the opposite miserable, anxious, sick and anti-social. These days when I drink I don't get any kind of euphoria just a sleepy feeling then a low mood for a week after, clumsiness and a dizzy head. So on one hand it smooths out the AS but it also makes it worse.

Coffee makes me hyper, so I've considered stopping drinking it. Alcohol I wont even dare to touch.

I don't drink, but not because of my AS, but because I don't want to become an alcoholic, wife-beating, sonofabitch. There's another reason I don't drink it but I can't discuss that here.

I have never had alcohol, but my reasons have nothing to do with AS. I also do not drink anything caffeinated.
