Anyone find games with lots of movement cause sensory overload? Call of Duty will always do it to me within an hour. I have to stop playing it because it can then lead onto anxiety attacks.

Just me?

Motocross Madness gave me a headache and made me so nauseous I almost threw up each time I tried to play it.

I can get sensory over load from playing Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Bayonetta etc...
Any game that has tons of action.

I can specify my particular sensory problem - movement.
Anything that moves including gif's or moving signs or the like cause me to stare - fixate on the movement.
Some games I just do not bother to play. Some programs with "flashing lights" I delete from my computer entirely.

My "work around" for what it is worth is to consider that movement itself is a threat of three levels ...

One is "ignore - there is no threat.
Another is - watch out, sabre tooth tiger.
A third is "be alert - that could be a potential threat.

I only seemed to react at "full accept or full alert."
So I trained myself to accept "this might be a threat - therefore evaluate and decided threat or safe" and it allowed me to be less anxious about movement.

It did NOT fix the problem but it alleviated the symptoms a lot.

I can't play racing games and real time strategies - the former are too fast for me, I just can't respond quickly enough, and the latter often require both quickness and multitasking that I can't stand together.

However I play Counter Strike 1.6 well - the gameplay is not so quick, movements are predictable, so it comes pretty good.

I enjoy playing Call of Duty (and Medal Of Honor), but with the former especially it is the hectic, intense nature of the game which limits me to short spells of playing (after about 20 minutes, I need to stop for a coffee, or occasionally something stronger). Lack of a 'save as you go' option also puts you under pressure to get a level wrapped up.
