Finally admiting you're crazy ,so what do we do now?
I've recently been acessing my surpressed memoeries and I realized something. I'm crazy and if everyone acted like I do the world would be a horrible place.
This has lead to a lot of self discovery which of course lead to daily suicidal thoughts .
Anyhow is there anyone else who sees autism for what it is ,because I know this forum loves to circle jerk like we're Superior or just "different"
Crazy?
Oh no. And this is NOT dismissing your insight into yourself.
You are ... limited. You need others to support the things you lack.
At the same time - you bring something positive to the group.
If you consider yourself "alone" then you go one way.
When you consider yourself as part of society, or a group trying to achieve something - then you become a valuable member well worth the effort it takes others to "put up with you."
Look at yourself within a group heading towards a goal - and you will lead them to the goal - leading from the rear so to speak.
Being limited does not make you crazy.
Crazy? I've had that thought before.... but then I thought MORE about it, and the world at large, and some of the absolutely deranged, alarmingly stupid crap that "normal" people do, and I realized.... okay, yeah, there's crazy.... but I'm happy to say it's *not* with me.
And frankly, if the idiots that do alot of the dumb/pointless crap in "normal" society think I'm loopy, well, frankly, I'd rather be "loopy" than normal, thanks. They can take their "normal" and shove it, really.
Not self-shame.
That's why all the people around here circle-jerk into saying autism isn't disabling when obviously to some people it is, it's a regular old defense mechanism that works even when logic doesn't.
But really, don't shame. It is pointless, makes you feel bad, and if you're actually crazy and if everyone acted like you and the world would not work, then there's nothing stopping you from grasping at the freedom you do have and clinging to it.
I don't know why people feel a need to bring something to the world. I've felt that way and I still almost internalize that. But the reality is that you don't owe it anything, no one owes it anything. You didn't choose to exist, but you're the only person who experiences yourself, so you're the only person in charge of yourself. There is no shame to existing, the only shame is what other people try to make you feel so that they themselves can work in the world more easily. But you don't owe those people anything either. Not your parents, siblings, friends, co-workers. Freely give what you want when you want, but you owe nothing. Accept what other people give you to help you exist, but don't accept their disdain, for to accept disdain is another useless thing.

This, and maybe find other crazy people to hang out with....more interesting than normal squares anyways. I mean would you rather go camping with a bunch of yuppies who have to have their tent, and little gas burner to cook on and has to do everything just right by the book...Or would you rather go camping with a motley crue of crazy people, cook like they did before the invention of the stupid gas burner and run around making animal and or battle noises like a bunch of crazed savages/nomads/vikings/pirates/jedi/trolls/orcs or whatever we feel like acting like at the moment? I find the latter to be much more fun.

LOLOLOL I definitely agree with the first part----we ARE more interesting, IMO----but, I'm old Sweetleaf, can't I have just one little gas burner, when I go campin'?

Well people can bring their own, if they want to maintain it and use it....but then its their responsibility and no leaving them by the fire, since compressed gas near heat=explosion.

Don't worry about crazy or not crazy. Just figure out how all the people in the world SHOULD act, and then act like that. The rest doesn't matter.

That's the best idea ever.
Every camping trip needs to just be like this now.
As opposed to the usual sitting, drinking, more sitting, more sitting, gossiping, and, well, seems to be alot of sitting in lawn chairs and such, from what I've seen. Unless sitting in the tent of course.

You might be crazy, you might not. Who knows? If you are having suicidal thoughts then you need to go and see a counselor right away. Don't f**k around with this s**t. Suicide is the biggest killer of young men in our society and is pretty high up on the list for young women as well. Get help now.
But whether you are crazy or not will have very little to do with autism.
The little that it may have to do with autism is almost entirely due to the fact that autistic people suffer from oppression by NT's. So would living in a prejudicial world make someone crazy? Well, quite possibly. Would living under the constant strain of having to act NT create stress and pressure that would lead to anxiety and depression? Of course! The stats for mental health issues amongst autistic people are quite troubling. But there are similar stats for mental health issues amongst gay people and other historically oppressed minorities. It ain't the autism or the homosexuality that causes the mental health issues it's the prejudice and homophobia that causes it.
So please please please go get some professional help if you are having suicidal thoughts. A good counselor may well be able to help you through this and if they are very good they might be able to help you see yourself differently and repair some of the damage done to you by this prejudiced bigoted world.

I totally understand you. The floodgates open and you begin to see the reality behind past actions. I call them "wakeful nightmares". They can on and on every day for months on end. Seeing the truth behind who we are can be quite painful

I know a person who would spend the entire trip laying down in the tent...if they where brought on a camping trip, IDK how someone could do that but I guarantee she could.
