Late 40s.. Just diagnosed recently..

I've had abdominal pains for approx 10 years, right side lower abdomen.. preceded by episodes of vomiting that were once occasional, and are now a regular (daily, sometimes several times daily) occurrence..

Been diagnosed with duodenitis via gastroscopy, I have other ailments but that seems to be related to this.. I have yet to have a camera up my bum but I've had various other CT scans and things..

Anyway... it's been a consideration for a while now, since my diagnosis, that maybe it's autism related I know GI problems are often co-morbid ... however I recently read that specifically, abdominal pains in that region, are common in autistics, and I read a thread on here where several people related a similar sensation, possibly due to visceral pain..

Does anybody else suffer with nausea and vomiting too??

I'm starting to wonder how much of this is a psychological component related to sensory overload. The other night I walked into my kitchen which was dark, flicked on the light and BOOM! instant nausea and sickness...

Nausea often seems to kick in when I experience temperature differences (eg moving between rooms), if I encounter a strong smell, or become stressed..

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone??

I've been suffering with these symptoms for 14 years and it's getting worse... any input is greatly appreciated !

I was a copious vomiter when I was a young child; one of my first memories, in fact the smell of vomit.

I can still vomit on cue.

I tend to get motion sickness if in a moving vehicle for an extended period of time. What triggers it in particular is when the person driving suddenly stops and then hits the gas hard again, or if they're making a U turn. I used to take Dramamine for it and it helped a lot, but then I got addicted to the drug and now I can't take it anymore. Also, strong, unpleasant smells sometimes make me nauseated. I have to deal with that a lot at the nursing home I'm living in. Half the people there don't even take a shower or bath and stink up the place.

I am an emetophobe and haven't physically vomited since I was 10.

I hope I don't get any bowel problems because that means a colonoscopy and I'm s**t scared of them.

If Asperger's is going to cause all these stomach and bowel problems then life is really not worth living.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I have bowel problems and I'm happy to be alive.
