...harmless behaviors, like not making eye contact, not talking much or at all, intense interests taking up all of your time, etc? Me!! I mean, I'm not harming anyone and never was with those things, which were my only autism traits, so what was the point of trying to change me and worrying???

People have treated me like I'm mentally handicapped because I stutter and can't properly interact with other people.

People treat me as "disabled" when I try to make normal conversation, and I'm sick of it.

A lot avoid me or converse with me once only I would assume for these reasons

I sort of get that impression sometimes. No one's ever specifically said anything though, aside from one kid in eighth grade who asked me if I was "actually ret*d".

When I was young people thought I was stupid but I was just very naïve and childlike and I was horribly taken advantage of.
Now I'm an eccentric old lady and animals love me.

Human animals are my favorite type of humans.
