are you a visual thinker?

I see everything I read and hear. someone once said, "the pipe exploded." the image of pieces of metal flying in all directions flashed through my mind. when the vet says, "I must open a vein," I see a vein being slashed with a knife. I read in a book about someone's eyes going soft with love, and I could just see eyes crumbling, turning into soft material.

What kind of words turn into images in your head?

and why are we visual thinkers?

Sounds like to me that you are taking things literally, more then visual thinking.

But is it still literal thinking if you know what it means but you still get literal images but you still understand the phrase?

Raining cats and dogs, I see pictures of cats and dogs falling out of the sky but I know it means raining very hard so I can picture hard rain falling while I still see the other image.
