Ok, this will sound random to most people, but i relised that when i have caffeine it calms me down, where as if someone else has caffeine it makes them more active.

Is this normal for me because i have aspies?

Apologies if this seems like a really stupid thread to some people.

There was another thread about this, but I still had more things to say about it.
Sometimes caffeine makes me really sleepy, and makes me want to go to sleep. Then other times it lets me stay up till 6 am.

Yes, its like that for me too sort of.

I feel really drowsy in the morning so i take it to wake me up, but if i take it at night it helps me sleep, its like it clears my mind of all the thoughts that are constantly spinning around in my head and keeping me awake.

Yeah I agree caffeine (coffee) is good at both morning and night. Don't know if this is an addiction/routine thing.

Einstein had a major coffee addiction too btw...

I have never taken any amphetamines before, although when i was younger i had trouble sleeping at night so i was given ritalin, and my mum said that helped.

But that confuses me, because i thought if you didnt have ADHD that it would make you more hyperactive, and i have never been diagnosed with ADHD. :?

Dr Weil says caffeine possibly might relieve ADD.

Drugs have NEVER worked on me like they do on others, outside of a few. The newer OTC sleeping pills have NO effect! Nyquil doesn't make me sleepy. Milk doesn't help me sleep. Coffee doesn't keep me awake. Almost NO OTC painkillers work. In fact, the ONE that does requires an overdose that the FDA says must be PRESCRIBED!

I get jittery (mainly my stomach) if I drink a pot or two of coffee. Otherwise, it has little effect. Tea is constantly pouring into my veins though.

I do suspect myself of having that actually.

You know, it's weird. Most of the time I can never sleep, but if I have caffeine, I'll go to sleep instantly, unless it's a cappechino (SP?). Otherwise, as usual, I'd be up all night!

I think caffeine actually makes me feel a little sluggish. It's sugar that really gets me going.

I think it'll make me go off the wall - I never touch it outside of tea's and I dont drink tea often. (i had my first green tea in months)

Oh, and chocolate but I dont eat a lot of that either, though, this week is odd as I'm getting into it again.. f**k its good!

So, I guess i'm back to consuming it in low quantities

ADD = ADHD

ADHD is usually broken down into 3 types

primary inattentive (ADHD-I)
primary hyperactive
combine type

No, ADHD is ADD with added hyperactivity. ADD isn't ADHD.

Caffine really doesn't affect me, until I stop drinking it.
