Hi,
I have been told that Aspies are fascinated by slowly moving water. Well, for me that is certainly true.
But it seems to be so random. Do you feel the same fascination and does water make you happy?
Why are we so fascinated, any explanations?

I hope this question hasn't been asked before, I am new in this forum.

Same for me. It's interesting that many autistics are fascinated by this, but it might be for different reasons.
Maybe the complexity of it - light, colour, movement, sometimes slight sound, and if you're touching it, the temperature and texture. Maybe its something about the quality of movement, the seemless fluidity. Maybe something about it just has a soothing effect on us.

It seems to me to be a visual thing. Slow moving water, snow falling, flames from a fire, etc.. These kinds of things have always drawn my attention to them, as a kid and even now.

I for one love to fill my drinking bottle with water a couple times a day and fill the glass pitcher with pure filtered water. I love watching it flow. Dunno, just brings a certain pleasure.

Yes.
I think "fluidity" and the shapes that it forms is the key.
The shapes and movement matches archetypes in our subconscious.

I also like to watch fire, air-flow, clouds, tornados, magnetic fields, etc...

I don't get that attraction but I'm not a visual person.

I used to have a fascination with water going down a certain kind of drain.
