Does anyone else feel like their obsessions or skills is too narrow to fit any kind of ideal job description requiment? In other words, do you feel like the things you really enjoy most wouldn't ever become any kind of thing that could successfully earn you money because it is not only different but the skillset is so narrow you wouldn't end of getting a job just doing that because it would require other things you don't like or not good at, or require a type of education that you wouldn't be able to do. For me it is like that: the one, besides laying in bed watching TV eating good snacks, I feel like I really don't enjoy anything except drawing power lines. Ive enjoyed drawing power lines but getting a job actually designing them would require socializing an interacting with people, designing other things I'm not interested in such as servaying, and getting an engineering degree which would require a lot of math which requires school which always a struggle with me because of my learning disability. Does anyone elsession interests like that? Do you relate to what I'm saying?

I get what you're saying.. and I don't fit that profile, but: why make assumptions? Maybe you could land a job as a draftsman drawing up power line plans, or do your own thing as an artist w/ your main subject being power line drawings.. no one says you have to become an engineer or design other things in order to draw power lines. You could always try applying for any/all jobs that would allow you to draw power lines and see if you get one w/o having to go to school for it specifically.

I feel this way...my interests are drawing and painting and music, but it's rare someone makes a living as a visual artist and I'm too socially awkward to be a touring musician

In my opinion, it would make it easier to get a job if you broadened your interest/skill set.

Maybe you could become someone who helps fellow autistic people live independently. You could become a social worker to do this
