I made a new browser game about having autism at the mall.

You play as a kid at one end of the mall in a vulnerable emotional state who needs to get to his or her mom at the other end of the mall. If you touch a neurotypical you will get set back and hear them talk to you. If you touch 3 neurotypicals you have a meltdown and the game will show you screaming and then restart. I think it has a lot to teach NTs about what it's like at a mall when you have autism. I myself have Tourettes, Aspergers, OCD and ADHD but i used Autism as the hook of the game because it's more well-known. and they say they're on the same spectrum so, yeah.

the game is short but hard, like a good NES game. Hope you like it. If you can't beat it, i hope you at least can relate to it.

thanks for reading!

here's a download for if it goes offline:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/8vv48 ... heMall.zip
just unzip, open the Index file in Firefox, click thru the false error messages and it should load.

This would be a great game for parents to play when they find out that their children are autistic. Sure, going to the mall is inevitable at any age and everyone needs to brave the mall at one point or another. What I mean is that perhaps parents could understand more why their young children are likely to have meltdowns at the mall.

And that isn't even a busy mall.

If you make different levels, you could add sensory issues; the person could have to navigate while lights are flashing and/or different loud and soft noises are randomly going off.

You could add comfort item power-ups along the way that give the player back one happiness level (like health items do in a regular video game) or give the player a shield so they can get hit once without losing a level (like Sonic rings or Mario Super Mushrooms).

And that doesn't even take into account the frustration that builds up when life is like this ALL THE TIME.

NTs are not as predictable as the game "enemies". The game is way too easy.
