...I really get annoyed. Especially if I'm already busy with something.

What the f**k is with these NT's who think that we can just drop everything we're doing just to suddenly turn our attention to their ridiculous issues/requests on a moment's notice!?

I find it also extremely irritating when they just continue to knock & knock & knock and it especially pisses me off when they start banging loudly. Some dumb-asses really need to learn some quieter ways of requesting my aid/assistance, like slipping a note under the door, dropping an e-mail message, the use of messengers, etc.

I think I'm going to write a post-IT note & stick it on the front of my door :
« I have a Pet-Peeve of sudden door-knocks (I dislike sudden loud noises [especially if I may already be busy or concentrating on something]). Please slip note beneath door or be prepared to get kicked out of house. »

I hate it when a salesperson knocks on my door as well. What makes them think that it's okay to bug somebody when they're busy?

If it's a courier delivering something to you, would you rather go and collect it from the post office etc later than receive it right then at your front door? I have the opposite problem. They don't knock loudly and persistently enough and I miss the delivery.

I am referring more to people knocking on my room door rather than coming from outside.
