How can I leave the "aspergers" label behind?

Related to my other thread, I think lately I became too obsessed over labeling myself with an autism spectrum disorder. Can it be this site causing it? I mean, don't want to leave or anything, three are lots of nice people here, but I want to forget the autism labels for now, I've become too conscious about it, and I want to focus on things more productively. How can I forget about my label, or not use it too often?

I've been through this as well. Try to find another site that will take up your time. You'll be so busy on that site you won't care as much about WP or your label. I simply don't tell people my label. It makes my life easier. It's more helpful if people just think of me as ADHD or a bit quirky.

Yeah, I've been through that as well. I think it might just be a normal part of the journey.

DevilKisses has good advice.

I think after awhile that kind of thinking can get pretty embedded within you. It might help to re-remember what you thought of your "quirks" before you had this particular explanation. With luck, you will push through and this whole experience will have given you more data to add to your previous experience and you will simply have new, more correct explanations.
