My mom told me that I was a sirius baby. I seldome smiled. My Mom and Dad would pass me back and forth among them to see if they could make me smile. And with much effort on there part I would smile or laugh at something they did.

As a baby did your parants ever tell you of the lack of Expression on your face? Is this something common among Aspies and Autis?

My mom told me I looked like I was taking in the whole world and one day I would give it all back.

My mother said I had all my feelings on my face - and I think they were mostly negative. I didn't smile a lot being overwhelmed. I have some photos of me trying to evade Santa Claus and looking terrified at the Easter Bunny. I have a baby picture of me smiling because I have a big black telephone. I was fascinated with phones. I looked mostly very serious.

My mother tells me I didn't smile until I was five. To this day I don't smile very often. In pictures of myself as a baby and child, I have a very serious expression.

My mom says I was more agreeable when I was a baby LOL. Based on my baby pictures, most of the time I was either laughing, surprised or had a blank expression on my face... the only ones where I'm crying are mostly the ones where my cousins/uncles/other strangers are holding me.

My parents told me that I acted like a "little man" instead of a baby.

I was adopted, so I don't know about infant expressions. There a few pictures of me at 6 months with this blank look, which looks both thoughtful and skeptical. There's one where I'm looking off camera and laughing/smiling.
I have had a blank look for most of my life that is interpreted by others as "angry", "mean", "upset" and "snobbish". That is the generic, nothing is going on, look. I do smile when happy/joking or look sad/grimace when upset.

But I did smile sometimes:

I have been told that when I was in my glass cot with all the other babies, a doctor came to tap on the glass and my eyes darted to look at him.. all the others were asleep, you see...and he told my mother, 'You're going to have trouble with this one'.

My mother was told the same thing. Doctor's see so many people, that they understand some stuff that just can't be formalized.
