Asperger's symptoms caused by irregular serotonin levels?
My symptoms can be literally 100% gone and I'm like a NT when I take a high dose of serotonergic drugs then give it a break. It doesn't last and only works sometimes but I notice this phenomenon in patterns.
Has anyone tried MDMA or even legal prescription drugs like Paxil and notice a significant decrease in anxiety symptoms? It's not even like you're a weirdo that's stoned but is communicating way better and looking people in the eye that others even appreciate you more. Even my voice and facial expressions seem different I have noticed it on camera as well.
Sounds like there's a pretty major improvement for you there, though fleeting. If only they could make a tablet to ease anxiety significantly which doesn't make you feel zombified eventually.
I have taken, at some stage, all of the SSRIs prescribed in the UK - except Paxil - and must admit that I did experience some positive effects with regard to anxiety. Perversely, even more so than the accompanying depression for which they were diagnosed.
Those negative, repetetive thoughts which act as such a barrier to progress were diminished, but only by about 20%. Because I didn't overthink everything as badly as normal I found that communicating with people was more free-flowing and it was reinforcing that they seemed to act more favourably toward me than normal because the subleties like eye contact were better, as in your case.
However, I concluded the side effects that went along with this made the whole deal a bad prospect long term.
I've tried just about every type of SSRI, and all of them make me feel like a zombie, not to mention that the side effects are really hard to deal with. So I don't know if my own Asperger's symptoms are caused by irregular serotonin levels. Plus, it's been proven that depression isn't caused by a serotonin imbalance, so why should I believe that Asperger's is caused by that? I'm just very skeptical about any and all talk about serotonin these days, since I know now that it's been lied about.
