Are you more likely to be lonely in the summer?

I don't know why I keep seeing references to groups, e.g. 'summer sharer' for a huge pizza, which is completely useless for a single person (unless I want to drown my sorrows, of course)... summer has always been the loneliest time of the year for me, as even a discussion group I normally go to closes, besides college etc. when I did go there.

yes, summer is particularly painful for us aspies. You get to see all the young beautiful social people having fun in the rare occasions where you put your steps outside, and it just increase your sense of feeling like an alien.

I love holidays, especially the summer break. During holidays, I don't have to deal with my NT peers. I can stay at home all day playing video games and watching TV.

No, I don't get lonely in the summer----but, if anything, I sorta get "cabin fever", cuz I can't STAND the HEAT; so, I stay inside more.

I love the summer! I love the sunshine, the heat, and wearing my sandals and shorts and T-shirt. Yes, even working a full day in the heat does not bother me. The only thing is, I enjoy it so much that it ends too quickly, and before I know it it's September. And I hate the autumn. :(

Same here - no not too hot - but in September the mushroom season starts.
I just hate it, when the days get shorter.

Don't feel lonely but do hate the heat. Hate the feeling of melting of being too stuffy and the sight of people with perfectly slim bodies :(

Definitely. I'm the friend who isn't ever invited to anything. That being said, though, I usually have plenty to occupy myself with anyway, so the loneliness isn't really too bad.

I see, "best shared with friends" on my booze bottles.

I think it's trying to tell me something, but I'm not sure what that actually is.

Not at all. From where I live, people are either:

In that one cold place they would like to hang. Malls or any air-conditioned buildings.

Or in a pool. But I get to be invited sometimes...

Or stuck inside the house because it's too hot. And I can get out anytime I want even with the summer heat at high noon unlike most of them.

I choose being alone more often than not in the summer. Sensory issues are maxed out for me and I don't want to be around other people. The consensus seems to be: "Hey, it's summer! Let's bunch up and be loud!" I'd rather be quiet and alone. ;-)

No. When I was single & lonely I felt more lonely around Valentine's Day & Christmas. I don't really feel lonley nowadays that I have a girlfriend I'm living with.

I am less likely to feel lonely in summer. The longer days are a huge mood lifter. More people are out and about and I enjoy being among them, though preferably with minimal direct interactions.

Obviously to try and get you to use it up more quickly in the hopes you'll go and purchase another.
