So, as if to hammer it down symbolically, on the anniversary my ex left me, this person some organization sent to talk to me confused me with someone from his childhood called 'Matthew [my surname]'.

Right, as if not a million and one other people called that already serve as a reminder.

Just curious....because you state you live in Wiltshire--and Stonehenge is in Wiltshire.

The area surrounding Stonehenge is beautiful.

No feelings were hurt, it was just a coincidence that only I could have been affected by. :-)
