I always tell myself to go to bed by midnight, but I rarely manage it. And 1.30am isn't that unusual. I currently know an Aspie who has been routinely staying up till about 5am and getting up around noon. When she returns to college she'll have to be up at 8.30am, so she needs to fix her habit or she'll be in deep trouble. Rather than force herself to have an early night, she's hoping that by going to bed later and later, she'll eventually get to midnight.
That 'later and later' stuff is exactly what I do. Trouble is, once the midnight (or whatever) target is reached, the 'bedtime' just continues to get 'later', so that within a few days I'm again going to sleep at 4 or 5 am, and waking up in the early afternoon. I think that may be because I operate on a 25 or 26 hour cycle, ie 17 or 18 hours awake followed by 8 hours asleep. This is potentially quite problematic....
