Since i often come off as rude ( i have been told) and since i sometimes get scared or even have a meltdown/breakdown/panic attack i have been wondering if i should tell people about my pddnos (asd) or not?
And how about everyone else, do you tell people you have asd and how many people know?
And how should i say it/how did you tell the person, since i dont want to come off as someone who uses a disability as an excuse for being rude acting strange?
Do i just say: I have pddnos which is like a form of autism and it makes it hard for me to understand other people and i am ofter misunderstood?
Or do i just keep my mouth closed and pretend i am NT?
Tips? Someone else in the same situation?

Do you have panic attacks or meltdowns often? If you do, I would first talk to your parents to find ways to make your life less stressful. Then if it's happening in a place like school where you see the people all the time, it's up to you if you tell them. If I were you I'd get advice from another autistic teenager before disclosing to any other teenagers.

I would say "on the autism spectrum" instead of PDD-NOS because regular people don't know what PDD-NOS is. If anyone asks what "on the autism spectrum" means I would say you think differently than other people and have different sensitivities.

I used to have really bad panic attacks at school everyday but then i got medication and switched to a really really small good school so i no longer have panic attacks.

Thanks

I don't share my diagnosis unless I'm likely to have problems; then I do but I only tell about the specific things I have trouble with.

I don't want to be judged before I'm known. So far that's a very good strategy.
