I find it more appropriate to say that I am an aspie/aspergian, than to say that I have Asperger's. I don't see it as a part of me, but the way I am. That's why the idea of a cure doesn't make sense, as it implies that the aspie become NT. Aspies and NTs are as different as chalk and cheese.
However, if it was possible to have your brain re-wired and become NT, I would certainly undergo that operation.

The idea of a cure doesn't make sense to me. I am not diagnosed, but it's clear the behavior I have that indicates Asperger's has caused me a lifetime of problems. Not my problems exactly mostly people not being able to deal with my bluntness or rudeness as some say, my lack of eye contact, them being out of sight out of mind, and my tendency to problem solve rather than hand hold.

That being said if there was an operation to fix those aspects of my personality I would refuse.
