I recently was told that my attempts at displaying love are similar to the sacrificial offerings left by cats. It's a really interesting parallel so I thought i'd share it for discussion

EDIT: Sorry that's an awful op. Does this make alot of sense to anyone else? For me its like a thunderclap and it really demystifies so much. The idea is that cats do this out of love but are oblivious to the fact that it incites shock in the object of their affections

Do you mean that you leave dead birds, and dead rodents, on the doorsteps of loved ones?

No.

EDIT: Sorry im not sure whether you're making fun lol what I mean is that I make misguided attempts at love and end up repelling people

Aspies are like cats, the book "All cats have Asperger Syndrome" describes it pretty well and I was being told I act like a cat ever since I were a kid.
But it doesn't mean cats are our ancestors. LOL

Ha! You're right!
I don't know why I never thought of that!
I've been thinking about how cats and Autism are somehow linked, and I didn't notice that!

This is pretty much exactly what I do!
I present people with a "gift" of information in an attempt to show interest in them and everyone is repelled!

Cautism

Take the u, capitalize it, move it left, and flip it clockwise... Uatism... Catism

That totally makes sense.

My wife told me she reminds herself I don't show affection with hugs and longing gazes but I get things for her and fix things. We do for those we care about.

while similar in many ways to cats, it is not innate for one autistic in a household to want to be the only one, & to dislike all others on sight.

That depends on if the Autistic people within the household have conflicting interests or not.
My Autistic family is a perfect example of this.

That also depends on the cat's personality.
I have some very mellow cats, and I have some that are vicious towards one another.
