I really am not a fan of prescription pharmaceuticals. My wife's family has suffered life-long health issues as a result of over-prescription of different drugs, and the drugs to counteract the effects of the other drugs, etc.

However, I have learned of some medications that seem to have helped some ASD sufferers deal with things a little better on a day-to-day basis.

So, beyond simply eating a healthy, balanced diet, are there any specific herbs or supplements that could help we higher-functioning aspies cope with our symptoms a little better?

There isnt anything specifically for AS but there are things such as chamomile passionflower and turmeric which can help things along. Turmeric Black pepper and Coconut oil (or indeed any form of oil) is quite remarkable. Curcumin has some useful properties. Try strong chamomile tea also.

I take high dose B complex, high dose vitamin D, and fish oils. I find they help regulate my moods and help with anxiety and low energy levels.

Do you use cod or Krill? Krill is rather more expensive but there's less heavy metal contamination

I tried to link to the capsules I take but I'm not allowed to post links yet, apparently. I take Transforme high strength Omega 3 which is from sardine, anchovy and mackerel so probably a bit high in heavy metals for me as a woman of reproductive age, but then I'm not planning on any kids.

Have you tried plant based sources? Flax is probably the best one from what ive heard. Hemp contains some omega 3 in addition to a full spectrum of proteins

I haven't, thanks for the recommendation. I've only been supplementing for about 8/9 months so I'm still on my original massive tub of fish capsules :)
