i think that misogyny/sexism/racism/prejudice towards people with mental illness is going to exist as long as humans do, so it's better for all of us to retreat to our own world and live out our own beliefs, and respect and treat everyone with as much kindness and be as harmless to one another but to believe all of that is going to change? Can neurotypicals not understand that humans are awful, and there's no sign of that changing? I am not apathetic... but am I crazy?

I can't control what others think, but I can control my own thoughts, actions, and behavior.

I refuse to walk around with a chip on my shoulder. The world owes me nothing, and I get that.

There's evil in the world, but one must first conquer the evil in oneself.

Let me put it very plainly: There are few things that I hate more than politics. Political correctness is one of them.

I think a pure world of people who really do want to be harmless would be a great thing, but there's nowhere that's completely safe from nasty folks, and they usually invade and impose their ways. And human injustice might not change, like in Animal Farm, the farmer seems like the only bad one until they kick him out, then the pigs end up being just as evil.

Political correctness requires politics.

I don't believe I stated anything to the contrary.

They are both tools of uncertainty, conflict, and offense, so they are useful to the hive mind.
That you don't easily align yourself with these things is evidence that you have a weak connection to the hive mind.

I mean why is it so hard for them to not grow up and accept the world for as it is ? Why do they have to be so invested in conflict and right or worng

The world would be unlivable and wars would be a constant if that was the case. If there weren't people advocating for disability and homosexual rights we would have seen no progress. I believe that humans can change, maybe some can't, but we have experienced this the past few decades, where younger generations are in general much more accepting of difference due to education and how they are being raised.

Political correctness isn't an NT thing, there has been much of it on this forum. Perhaps components of politics are more strictly an NT thing, such as the emotional impacts and white lies etc. that all tie in with stuff like that.

You can keep your own beliefs, but interaction is a vessel to learn about those beliefs. On this forum many desire NTs to have a better understanding of autism, so that autistics are readily accepted by society. That hasn't happened yet but it shouldn't be far off considering recent developments in other areas.

Since I was about nine-years-old politics has been my special interest. It was the area where I could as a child be a little professor. I suppose the feverish partisanship of the last decade or so has made it a lot less relaxing and significantly more stressful for me.

I would echo the point of another poster who pointed out that if we want any rights or recognition and legal protection for our own or anyone else's disabilities - working with the political process is an absolutely necessary part of that.

As far as things never changing - when I was a child black people could not vote or attend a regular public school in large parts of America. Homosexuality was a crime with prison sentences. It was considered liberal to believe that it was sickness that should require confinement in a mental hospital rather than prison. Now gay people can legally get married in most states in America and probably the majority of advanced western democracies. So if it is possible to change things that much it is possible to make a more just world.

for some real optimism - watch this video

I think political correctness is just everyday common courtesy and consideration for the feeling so others. There is nothing wrong with voicing an opinion, but there is a skillful way to use words and their is a wild, mongrel way to use words. People who feel they must be deliberately crude and hurtful when they speak their mind are not "calling it like they see it" as people claim when they say they are just being straight shooters, they are using that as an excuse to inflict emotional pain on those who have behaviors or ideologies that they disagree with. It's mental laziness, and apathy for other human beings.

evil is almost always far noisier than good. meanness stomps about like a bear, while kindness pads about on little kitten feet. humanity in general, the most spiritually evolved elements, are progressing, but of the rest it could be said that the best are utterly lacking in conviction while the worst are full of burning intensity. in total, I would say that our world is taking one tentative step forwards but one sure step backwards, and we are slowly going backwards.
