i think that misogyny/sexism/racism/prejudice towards people with mental illness is going to exist as long as humans do, so it's better for all of us to retreat to our own world and live out our own beliefs, and respect and treat everyone with as much kindness and be as harmless to one another but to believe all of that is going to change? Can neurotypicals not understand that humans are awful, and there's no sign of that changing? I am not apathetic... but am I crazy?
I don't get it
I mean why is it so hard for them to not grow up and accept the world for as it is ? Why do they have to be so invested in conflict and right or worng
The world would be unlivable and wars would be a constant if that was the case. If there weren't people advocating for disability and homosexual rights we would have seen no progress. I believe that humans can change, maybe some can't, but we have experienced this the past few decades, where younger generations are in general much more accepting of difference due to education and how they are being raised.
Political correctness isn't an NT thing, there has been much of it on this forum. Perhaps components of politics are more strictly an NT thing, such as the emotional impacts and white lies etc. that all tie in with stuff like that.
You can keep your own beliefs, but interaction is a vessel to learn about those beliefs. On this forum many desire NTs to have a better understanding of autism, so that autistics are readily accepted by society. That hasn't happened yet but it shouldn't be far off considering recent developments in other areas.
