You just cannot bear to have anything against your skin ? I am terrible somedays, tugging at my clothes as I don't want to feel any contriction. I have been fidgeting all day, trying to stretch my jumper loose and keep the waistband of my trousers/pants away from my hips.

I can't concentrate on anything if something is around my neck or chest too tightly. My sister bought me this awesome silk shirt for my birthday, and I cannot wear it because it is too constricting.

My favorite clothing at the moment are 2XL tagless tshirts from Fruit of the Loom. Lots of room and no tugging.

yes...dont know why some days are worse but mostly I just wear flannel PJ's.I used to only wear them around the house but lately have been wearing them the few times I venture out during the week.(Aspie sheek,I am sure I will start a fashion craze)I dont know if people stare because I seldom look up.My boyfriend says he doesnt mind,so,you could try the PJ route.(I go sans underthings as well,so naughty).

Sounds weird but you could also try a bath and then covering yourself in calamine lotion.I started doing it because of some alergy problems but noticd that it helps with over all sensitivity.

Absolutely. And it’s so much worse when you have to sit at a desk for 8.5 hours. Ugh. I can’t stand tight waistbands, anything touching my neck, the way shorter shirts ride up my back when I sit, the way sleeves ride up when I reach for something, the list could go on and on.

I found the best pair of pants a few weeks ago – yoga pants with a touch of spandex that actually look like seamless dress pants. But the elastic waist was way too tight – so I grabbed my seam-ripper and took it out. Afterwards I sewed the hem back down, and because they have spandex they are still stretchy enough to pull over my hips, but just snug enough not to fall off when I stand. It feels like there is nothing at all on my waist!!

Someone should start a clothing line for people with Sensory Integration issues.

I have days like that. I'm looking forward to the summer, when I'll be able lounge around my flat in just my underclothes and a t-shirt.

Yeah I'm very sensitive around my neck and it freaks me out to be touched there by anything. Its to the point that I have speculated many years ago it must be some deep instinctive thing to protect ones weak areas because I have no logic to explain it.

Those tags on t-shirts are just way to close to that sensitive area so they must go to. The heat and the humidity started in March here in Texas so I'm running my AC and now planning on bathing twice aday to deal with the sticky skin feeling.

Oh God, yes, I abhor getting sticky skin...especially sticky fingers. Eat anything remotely sticky, I have to wash my hands or I cannot relax... I wonder why it is that something like this can totally fill your mind and prevent you focussing on anything else, almost like an ocd thought.

Yeah I'm a compulsive hand washer and my skin is very dry on my hands as a result of it :(

Yes. Almost like everyday. And there are some textures such as velvet (that is just pure evil), carpet (when I get my own place I'm having soild wood floors everywhere) and curly haired dogs (maybe it's because ours was never clean) I could never bare to touch.

Yes.

When I have to go out, I wear something normal, but I strip off all my clothes the instant I get in my front door, and replace them with pajama pants and a loose t-shirt or small tank top. If it's particularly warm in the apartment then I stay nearly naked.

The worst is wearing a long pair of jeans on a very hot day!!
There is no air conditioning where I work and the trailers that I load
windows into can reach temperatures well over 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
After work and running all my errands, I shower and get into the softest
flannel pajamas I have.

I wear caftans all the time - nothing sticking to me ever. I've got a whole wardrobe of them. I found a kind of slip that doesn't bother me so I've got a few of those.

The only problem is, I like shiny objects. You should see some of those caftans! Glam, glitz, glimmer! After I noticed that, I started buying more subdued ones.

I had clothes on yesterday that were feeling scratchy for some reason. So finally I got changed into something else. I also get days when I can't stand tags so I cut them out.
