Yeah so I checked what happened to my diagnosis and my doctor (who now quit) just removed it. So apparently I don't (officially) have Pddnos anymore? They did tell me that I probably would get another diagnose at some point.

You're you. They can't change that diagnosis.

Did he say why he removed it? Did he just mean he replaced it with autism, as PDD technically no longer exists under the DSM? Did he think it was a misdiagnosis? If you still have the traits, you're still autistic; a label doesn't give you the autism, your traits give you the label.

Even if you are NT (which doesn't seem likely), you're still a very much welcome member of WrongPlanet.

Why doesn't it seem likely? (Just wondering (but I suppose it had to do with my previous posts))

It seems, from your previous posts, that you have some autistic features.

Nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, there are some advantages to having an autistic viewpoint on things.

Obviously, I haven't seen you in person, so I can't really offer a true impression of you.

I would worry more about being you, succeeding in school, trying to get out of Special Ed., than whether or not you're "autistic."

The doctor said that I have not changed (that the social difficulties I had when I got diagnosed are still here) BUT the doctor that removed the diagnose quit so I could not ask him. But the doctor and my therapist said that I am still me and they don't think diagnosing patients isn't the important part (the important thing from their view is to help me). But they did say that I have autistic traits (but so does everyone) but that I (maybe) have more than the "normal" amount of autistic traits.

Do you have a need for a diagnosis (educational/workplace services, etc.)?

If they think you might be diagnosed with something else in the future, then you could encourage your parents to push for a new assessment now as its much easier to get an assessment in some areas for under 18s.

Hopefully you would be able to get a thorough assessment which could show if you have ASD, Social (Pragmatic) Language Disorder or something else.

If it does mean a lot to you to be able to identify your difficulties
as a syndrome, makes you feel less isolated, or would allow you specific adaptions/interventions for next year then I think those should be identified.

Even if you are now subthreshold, I think it is questionable to remove a diagnosis without an assessment.

Especially as they've identified that you still have the social difficulties and the provision for the consideration of symptoms which have occurred by history but which are not currently present.

Is it a cause for celebration or commiserations?

What they told me is that my social difficulties have not changed. I still have the same struggles that led to the diagnosis in the first place.

Well, then you should definitely clarify this change with your doctor.
