Just a heads-up...Oprah will be having a show about "Living with Autism" tomorrow on April 5th. I don't know how positive or negative the tone of the show will be. If it is anything as good as the one she did on Tourette's, then it should be good. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed.)

There was a recent presentation on CNN about autism. Given that CNN tends to repeat things a lot, and that April has been designated Autism Awareness Month, you can probably still catch it sometime. I think that we'll see a lot of discussion about autism and related disorders, though the quality of the research and/or presentation will undoubtedly vary. One thing would be nice, and that would be to get insights from such autistic people (including most Aspies) who are capable of presenting an insider's look, rather than relying solely on "experts".

I agree. It was nice seeing the MTV show with Elijah.

Apparently Autism Speaks will be on this show too so who knows if this will turn into another informercial for that group.

I only trust Jerry Springer to do a good job on the topic of Autism. :)

I think Jerry Springer would be an interesting show to view autism from. It'd also be funny on Maury Povich. He'd make people take autism tests.

I'll fart in their faces and tell them where to go, and how bad their attitudes stink.

Lol, yes, I can see that Maury show now:

"You say your husband never cheats on you, he is polite, never fighting with your friends, trusts you 100%, passed the lie detector test. Okay, that's it! Let's give him the autism test!"

If Maury and Jerry Springer ever did a show about autism, they would probably treat it like it's a type of freak show.

Oh snap! Pat Robertson on the 500 Club would have a field day because he'd probably blame it on our sins and those of our parents.

Autism Speaks is involved, so I'm worried. :( I don't know how good it will be. I just wish they would let autistic people speak for themselves for once.

I hope the tone isn't utterly horrible. We are not the scourge of the earth.
