Hi.
How should i tell my mother i want to get tested for aspergers/asd?
At this point I just feel like my social skills are getting nowhere and its starting to show. And i would just like to know that do i have it or not. How should i ask my parent to arrange an assessment?
Thanks.
Note: my (old) diagnosis of PDD-NOS was removed (for now) so that's why I'm interested in an assessment. (But i choose to still have it as my signature here on wrongplanet, since the doctor didnt have a reason to remove it)

Maybe bring up what you're having trouble with and that what the doctor said is confusing. It's expensive though, to get this done privately. Unless your parents can pay, they would need to go through the school. Sometimes arguing with schools is worth it, but many times it isn't. So if they are paying, you and your parents have to figure out if school would agree and if this is worth pushing. It might be worth checking whether the doctor who took it away would put it back, too.

Actually we have free health care, so it wouldn't be a problem . Even if we would do it privately the money wouldn't be a problem.
