Klonopin for meltdowns?
I've been having episodes again... they keep adjusting my bipolar meds for them. Well it's happening again and this time they refused to adjust my meds except telling me to take more Klonopin. I hate that drug, horribly zombies me out. This happened to the point where I tore up the house... but is it bipolar? Basically something triggers me, then I get sensory problems, trembling, and stuff like that, then I want to curse, throw things, yell, scream, etc... Sometimes I do get mania, but not this time.
Now incredibly mental health thinks I'm having meltdowns after I ended up in the ER! But will they say I have autism, I don't know. But what do they suggest? Making a room in the house where I can safely scream and tear up things, and more Klonopin, and DBT therapy. The thing is my meltdowns occur so very fast they happen on the spot in a snap.
Is there anything else they can do other than Klonopining me to death???

Klonopin is a poor choice to respond to any immediate crisis because it takes at least an hour to kick in, by which time whatever anxiety attack or meltdown you were trying to treat is likely long gone. Melting the Klonopin pill underneath your tongue will make it kick in quicker but a faster acting benzo like Xanax or Ativan may be a better choice.
Possibly anger management breathing exercises and cognitive exercises may do you more good than a benzo would for a meltdown. Excusing yourself from the room or from anyone and going either outside or into a room by yourself to calm down. Count to 10, or even 100 if you are very stressed. Make sure to take slow deep breaths. This helps distract you and give you time to calm down.
