Just wondering if anyone has tried the The Specific Carbohydrate Diet? If so what did you think of it?

Isn't it the same thing as the Paleo diet?

I am trying it for my son. It's different from Paleo in that it allows some dairy however not fluid dairy (you eat some dry curd cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, etc along with the other foods). The similarity with Paleo is you eat absolutely no grains or anything containing grains. One big hurdle for us to get over is my son drinks a lot of rice milk. I tried cashew milk for him today and he seemed to like it. Another hurdle is many of the fruits and veg. recommended on the diet, my son is sensitive to because they're high in salicylates. argh

I am getting a cookbook written by a nurse (Pamela Ferro) whose child can't eat dairy but uses this diet. It is supposed to help heal the gut. I know my son is having awful stomach or intestinal pain. I am praying this diet will help.
