Hello everyone... Well were moving, and my youngest daughter isn't happy at all about it to say the lest. With her being Autistic, change is not good ! I've explained to her that the person who owns this home wants to sell it, So we have to go to a "new home". But no matter what I say, the only reply I get back is " I'm not going" any suggestions would be great.. :? I want to mention, I did give her time to process this information, I told her about a month ago and were leaving in the next week... Have a good day everyone ~

p.s. She is 16, but below her age level.. mind set at around age 10.

Guess I should give a bit more information of what I'm asking for .. I'm trying to figure what I can do to help my daughter understand that life cant always stay the same.. What idea's does anyone have to make this a smooth process.. Has anyone had to move and had to come up with a way to make it fun for a child with Autism ? Any idea's will be greatly appreciated ! !

Does she respond to things like PECS cards?

If so, I would create pictures which dramatize the transition from one home to the next. Things like: we are packing now. The moving truck is coming. We load the stuff into the moving truck. You ride in the moving truck to your new home. You arrive at your new home. You unpack the moving truck. You unpack the stuff in your new home, making it as orderly as your old home.
