This could be nothing to do with being an Aspie, or maybe I am onto something here, I don't know. I want to see if other people do this as well.

I constantly think people look like other people. Their faces specifically. About 25%-50% of the people I see (TV or real life) I think look very much like someone else I know, or someone else I have seen. For example: an actor (D.B. Woodside) I now believe looks just like a coworker of mine. I have seen DB Woodside many times in the past, and have known my coworker for 2 years, but last night, I suddenly became convinced they look a lot alike. DB Woodside is a tall, well toned black man, and my coworker is a straggly white dude. But I believe they have the same face. I also think my coworker looks so much like my brother in law, but I do not think my brother in law looks ANYTHING Like Mr Woodside.

This happens to me all the time! I always see someone or meet someone, and immediately think they look a lot like someone else. I will meet someone who I think looks exactly like my mom, but I know they don't really look alike. Is this common among other Aspies, thinking people have the same or very similar faces, even though they really do not? Or is this just one of my crazy little quirky things? Any insight would be helpful.

A lot of people look the same to me, there were people in my college who I thought were in some of my classes for ages, then found out it was just a random person I walked past a lot and they looked similar. I don't know if it's an Aspie thing though, probably. It might be todo with not spending as much time looking at people's faces... :?

Nope... It is an old concept related to Prosopagnosia, and common in Aspies! I have the SAME problem.

I told a girl that she looked like Pete Townshend and she thought it was funny.

I am always seeing resemblances in people. Sometimes its even hard to tell people apart in films because they look too alike.

I think its normal to see likeness in people though, the same as it is to notice differences.

I have trouble telling people apart in films, mainly women. It helps if they have different coloured hair though

I never really thought about that, but I do have trouble with that too. Unless I know the actor/actress well enough already, I can't remember them. I couldn't remember the difference between Joey and Chandler on Friends for a few episodes.

LOL at that last picture. If you can confuse a muppet with a real person, then face blindness might not be your only problem.

I used to do this in Jr. High...and it annoyed the hell out of some people..and flattered others...like I thought my computer teacher looked like meryl Streep and my science tacher looked like harrison Ford.
My best friend, who was a girl I thought looked like john lennon...and she HATED when I said that...and her sister looked like Ringo star...big nose blue eyes....
I kinda looked like Paul at that age and I had a male friend who strongly resembled George Harrison...
yep..I had a few friends back then but I really got on their nerves... :)
