Hey. I'm in college right now, at a pretty good one too. I'm a freshman, and I'm thinking about majoring in classics. At the moment, I'm thinking about either going into OCS after college (I'm a total patriot), or trying to get my doctorate in classics and becoming an academic. What does the Wrong Planet community think of my plans, and what would be some ideal jobs, after college, for an aspie?

Also, I'm thinking about studying abroad next year or over the summer, probably in the UK. Any thoughts on this?

Well, I run into a lot of other aspie people in academia actually. That's my dream, and i'm doing well as a PhD student.

I also really enjoyed studying abroad. I highly recommend it.

Power to you!

If you are going to stay in academia classics is a fine major. If you don't want to teach, though, it isn't useful for much else. You should definitely take the opportunity to study abroad if it is offered! If your self-care skills are weak you might want to only do it for a summer though, rather than a whole year.
