Ladies and gentlemen and all individuals on the gender spectrum, I am an official medical marijuana patient.

I approached my doctor about the possibility of it when I was at a party being my usual aspie self; uncomfortable, being sure I was being judged by everyone who looked at me and afraid to talk to anyone at length about anything.

I then took a haul off a bowl someone was passing around and all of that, my aspie symptoms (that are symptoms to me) went away.

I can now buy cannabis for my anxiety, ADHD, migraines, depression and autism-spectrum disorders.

If you haven't considered it and are tired of being an outcast in your own head, give it a try!

Yeah some people can make their symptoms go away temporarily with weed or alcohol.
I know I can lessen my symptoms with a bit of booze, but it's a bad idea. I'd rather be weird than an alcoholic.

Congratulaions tho. Hope it will help you long-term.

So which state was this in? Pretty sure each one has different guidelines for MM prescriptions, and it also probably depends on the doc as well.

Doesn't matter to me though. Medical weed is easy get with or without a prescription, and in a few weeks the MM dispensaries here are going to sell to anyone over age 21(I'm in Oregon).

What state are you in? Im in NJ and it's super hard to get the Dr.'s recommendation. There are like 7 or 8 qualifying conditions, none of which are mental/psych in nature.

if you're in Delaware, how'd you like to share some of that medicine???

I find it to be exceedingly helpful for my mood stabilization, self-criticism and social awkwardness. It also helps me with my focus and motivation. I dont have outbursts nearly as often. Not to mention it helps dull the symptoms of some undiagnosed physical maladies as well.

I started just like many kids, at 17, just wanting to try it out and found it almost immediately to bring me out of my shell and help me empathize and identify with others on a level I was previously unable to.

You lucky bastard. I cant even get it through illegal channels where I am. So I'm basically unmedicated most of the time. They just need to federally legalize it already as the benefits far, far outweigh the negatives.

In the state in which I live, Maine, cannabis can be recommended by your doctor. THey'll fill out a form and it'll have two cards on it. One identifies you as a MJ patient, the other you give to your caretaker. No, I don't have intractable pain, MS, HIV/AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, PTSD or anything like that. What I have is a doctor's recommendation that I consume cannabis to help alleviate symptoms that, in his opinion as my physician, believes will help.

Also, cannabis isn't one of those "take it to forget your problems for a few hours" types of things. It's called medicine for a reason. While on cannabis, it kind of opens your mind to other possibilities that would otherwise be hidden from you. You kind of become your own problem solver. Sure, I've got problems, "but how can I best deal with them when I'm sober?", I think about quite a bit. And y'know, I've succeeded. I love my wife more than ever. She gets me in ways I never thought anyone would and it's because of cannabis that I was able to finally see that. Instead of being quick to anger and frustrated all the time, I can now just say to myself, "everything's just all right..." And you know something? It is. It's one of the core principles of CBD and DBT if you're ever taken those classes before. Just be here now. Think about the thoughts you're thinking. Experience the moment. Examine the sensations of being.

Drunk, you're just, "no man, you're wrong and I can prove it with my fists!" Alcohol has no medicinal benefit whatsoever. Walk through the beer aisle in the store sometime. Some of it will be used to lube someone up enough so they'll shatter someone's jaw later on.

I consume cannabis responsibly. I know my limit. I know how much will make me blitzed, stoned, high or just buzzed. I refuse to drive even if buzzed. I still get my housework done and my kid sent off to school and attend soccer practice on Wednesday and games on Saturday. I can actually talk comfortably with my friends and peers and I don't have to try to look comfortable sitting by myself somewhere at a gathering. I can be social and laugh and talk and have a good time.

I'm an aspie. I've waited for this my entire life. Please don't take it away from me.

Thing is, and get this, 15 short years ago, I tried convincing my ex-wife to quit smoking pot because I thought it was as bad for you as they told you it was in school. Thing is, I didn't ever try it. Then I did and oh.my.science, it was awesome! I thought thoughts I'd never thunk before!

As a Medical Marijuana investor hoping to cash in on the "green rush," I approve of this message. :D

Congrats!

I was going through that process a few months ago but, my disability lawyer advised me I need to not get a medical marijuana card if I want to win my SSDI case.

I have considered trying to get a medical marijuana card, since I think it does have validity in helping unpleasant aspects of autism, depression and my PTSD as well as generalized anxiety. But it is a lot of hassle and I know they just rejected it for PTSD in my state and not sure they give it for depression or autism here.

Either way I still smoke, but I don't feel like an outcast in my own head because I don't see anything wrong with using cannabis to get high even though it has medicinal value. And I don't need societies approval to validate my cannabis use in my own head....though I do like that it is becoming more accepted and not stigmatized as much.

Cannabis is the new wine.

Also, you live in CO, why would you want or need a medical marijuana card? Just look up the strain that's best for what ails ya and go get some!

Me, for example, I wanna try some Jack Herer among some other strains.

Because medical marijuana isn't taxed or at least not nearly as much as the recreational...so it would be useful just to help with affording a consistent supply. Especially since a lot of people with conditions marijuana would treat are struggling financially. Of course it is not necessary since you can still buy 'recreationally' or there's still the underground market like people selling outside the 'legal' market. But yeah some places are really pricey, and some are a lot better priced it does take some amount of looking around, regretting paying too much for that 8th because you find a cheaper place...ect.

Also in my experience there is not a single strain that works best for me, but I find indicas to be the most helpful...it is however easier to just go to a dispensary and see what they have, since they might not have a specific one you want available.
