It seems to be more prominent in us. I used to have them before my surgery.

Asperger's people can get them, so can everybody else. Why do you ask this, Kitty? Do you think you've had one?

I get blackouts if I push myself to do too much in a small period of time.

I thought I was having them. Until the doctor told me it is just sleep paralysis.

Hopefully it’s just that.

There seems to be a higher incidence of epilepsy in people with ASD than there is in the overall population. I, for one, have both epilepsy and ASD. Still, the vast majority of people with ASD do not have epilepsy and/or seizures.

I've never had a seizure in my life.

People with dementia are at a higher risk of seizures than the general population as well.

When I was in the hospital, my whole body was shaking inside me, then I got I really cold. At first I thought it was a seizure, maybe it wasn’t. Isn’t seizures violence?

Not sure what you mean by violence. Sometimes people in a seizure tense up so much they can bite their tongue, they can fall down, so in these ways they can get hurt. Usually after that kind of seizure, they have no memory that it happened. I don't know if you had a kind of seizure, so I'll let other members address that.

I'm sure it must be upsetting to you, though.

I hope you will have a good day today, Kitty!

I am an epileptic and had my first seizure when I was 8.

My girlfriend (who is NT) is also an epileptic and had her first seizure when she was 12.

You can have absence seizures which are like blanking out in your mind and there’s no physical ‘fitting’ at all.

I had epilepsy as a child but grew out of it.
