Is anyone else wholly incapable of following celebrity gossip? If I look at the "entertainment" section of any paper or happen to fall upon one of the entertainment shows on TV, it's like they're speaking a foreign language. I don't know who they're talking about (apart from a few vaguely familiar names or faces), what they are talking about, or why they are talking about it. It eludes me totally.

I have a degree of face blindness so most celebrities of the same hair and skin color look alike to me.

Don't worry about it, most 'celebs' are not worth the time most people spend thinking about them.
I have exactly the same problem - for me to recognise someones face they must have affected my life in a significant manner - a celeb just doesn't do this for me :).
I think there is an illusion amongst the world that these people are important, I think most people here are not blinded by it, and some not here too - but the vast majority of the population sadly are!

I think I could probably follow it if I wanted to but I find it incredibly boring

I could not care less, these people are 100% uninteresting to me, like most people are, I rather follow some interesting research

Celebrity gossip seems like a complete waste of time and energy to me. I don't understand why people get so wrapped up in it or care so much about these people. And it gets really annoying when the media just won't drop blabbering about someone like Pamela Anderson dieing and all the drama around that.

I suppose I could follow it if I set my mind to it but I think watching paint dry might be more interesting and productive.

I'm capable of it, but I choose not to waste my time on it. Most of today's celebrities are famous merely for being famous and many of the things they do to grab headlines are overwhelmingly negative. If I am to focus on someone who happens to be famous, they should also be accomplished in some area, such as Roger Bannister.

Thank fug that this crap isn’t my one interest; thank fug that I don't even understand the meaning of the word "celebrity" or [collective] "fame". I’m incapable due to a -~ (negative infinity) amount of interest.

Not that I care if anyone else finds it dandy....

I think that celebrity gossip is way over rated.

Same thing here - most of them are talentless bimbos that can't sing 'singing' songs written by people who can't really write. I think I'd rather study the phonebook than read about most celebrities.

But did you hear that Elvis is actually the father of Katie Holmes' baby?
