I am new to this forum.
My boyfriend (who is 16, like me) is neurodiverse (so am i).
Last week, when his mother came to pick him up she looked at me for a while weirdly? Like with wide eyes, as if she was surprised, although there was nothing to be surprised about. Before it i spoke with her for a while. Any suggestions to why she might have looked at me weirdly?
Thanks

Were you dressed oddly or something?

Maybe it was something you spoke about?

Hard to tell really. Welcome tho.

Maybe she might just have had something in her eye.

Don't worry about it.

Life is far too short for things like that.

I've got four kids and my youngest is 19, so I've been through the teenager with a boyfriend or girlfriend (I have two boys and two girls) situation many times. Moms will size up somebody who is hanging with their kid, especially if we think our kid is infatuated with the person. Maybe she saw something she was surprised about or disapproved of. Maybe she just has bad vision. I don't know without seeing the situation, you, him, and his mom.

Best thing you can do in that situation is speak to her next time you see her. Be nice. Say hey. Ask how she is. Talk to her about school or something. Be friendly. If she doesn't like you, you're doomed pretty much.

Who knows what it could be?

It could be shock that her son has a girlfriend because he's neurodiverse.

It could be just plain old-fashioned motherly jealously of a son's girlfriend.

It could be nothing.
