Do people ever remark that you are either quite mature or quite immature for your age?

I'm 15, and I've personally heard both about me, and I can understand both. Generally, I'm "mature" because I'm not as superficial as the average teenager, I have strong opinions about issues, I read a lot and I like to learn, I work very hard in school and don't generally slack off, and I can generally be pretty articulate when I'm writing (Not talking). However, I'm "immature" because I'm sensitive (I do have a tendency to have crying meltdowns when I'm stressed, which I'm not proud of), and I like little kid things. I love, love, love anything Jim Henson/Sesame Street related, and I watch kid TV shows (like Arthur, Sesame Street, etc.) Also, I have a teddy bear that I can't sleep without.

What do you think? Does anyone else experience this?

As far as intelligence and factual knowledge were concerned, people perceived me as more mature than my age. Socially, I was very immature.

I'm IV in a XXV year old body. This does not deviate.

For some reason, no one "out there" takes me seriously when I say this. :? People, I haven't changed mentally...when I smashed the tower that that girl built out of building blocks, do you really think I don’t do that now?

It's cute when kids do it; evil when adults do it.

I get called the same. I'm mature because I know random facts, as well as the fact that I don't fall into the steriotype teenage girl behaviour (gossip, shallowness, flirting, ect.). But I'm immature because of the cartoons I watch and the way I act (like a 3-6 yr old).

When I was a child I acted a little more matured than my age, polite, serious, and I rather hang out with my older brother's friends and adults than kids my own age.

As an adult, things are the other way around, my mental age is a lot less than my physical age, I think some here had noticed that. I relate more to younger people than people my age.

I was considered both when I was younger,"mature" when I used reason and patience, and "immature" when I questioned an elder or the status quo.

This has been the story of my life. I've always related better to adults, from a very young age, and have always been told that I'm much more mature and grounded than others my age. However, in certain aspects, such as sense of humor (I think posting bizarre signs around buildings, for example, is funny) I'm considered immature. Which I don't mind, actually, because I'm put together in the ways that matter so I prefer it like this.

a mix of both... if that is possible. I prefer to talk to people a lot older than me, and get along with them much better than people my own age. I also enjoy being around children a lot at times-they are just more fun and more open to ideas and stuff :P People my own age bore me horribly. Some things as far as life experiences and how I talk about them and use them as references make a lot of people assume I'm quite a bit older than I am, but I'm quite a bit immature when it comes to a lot of subjects as well-I still kind of chuckle to myself about fart jokes and stupid things like that :P and I get horribly uncomfortable when more adult issues are brought up (kind of like-"what are you talking about??? I'm not supposed to be hearing about that!")
