I live in Illinois and am curently on ssi and Medicaid but I want to try and Run for a championship on Iracing but there is a 10 thousund dollar check and I was wandering if anyone knew what that would do to my benafits

I don't believe it would impact your benefits. My friend's disability was not impacted by a 250,000 settlement. I don;t think the 10K would make an impact if it wasn't earned working. I think it'd be more looked at like you won at the race track or casino.

Of course double check this first but I'm fairly certain. I mean, it may cause you to have to file taxes however.

With social security offices I'd imagine. I'm sure there is a number you can call.

Your only allowed $20 of unearned income. You'd lose your SSI check for the month you get the thousand & it'll start up again the month after if you have less than two thousand in your account.
