When I was a kid I had a bit of a speech impediment. I went to therapy and have since been able to speak just fine, but to this day, I still get a little hung-up on certain words that have "w", "L" or "R" in the same word, or where one letter could be replaced with the other to make another word. For example, I hate having to say: play/pray/prey/pay, prelude/play rude, brewery, nuclear, molecular (which stinks, because I'm a biologist), brew/blue, locks/rocks, etc.

Does anyone else have a similar problem?

My son (moderate ASD) still has this issue at age 12 and his therapists say it's probably something he'll always have. It doesn't bother him and he's understandable and with speech since the age of 21 months, we figure we've taken him as far as we can with it so we're good with it.

Oh...also, my son has this issue with the "th" sound...so for example, "movie feeter" for "movie theater."
