OK, to keep this brief...

A few weeks ago, a female co-worker of mine who normally doesn't strike up a conversation with me was talking to me. she then brought up a rather pointed question:

"Are you single and ready to mingle?"

I was a little taken aback, in my mind, anyways. My automatic robot brain factually responded yes. Well, a month after this I didn't think anything of it except that maybe this one girl is trying to play matchmaker. Anyways, this co-worker and another very beautiful, red-haired co-worker comes over to my cube, and I was introduced. It was very quick, she was whisked away, for which I am glad because it prevented me from launching into oddball conversation.

Anyways, I'm so excited because I've never really had an interaction like this before (I kind of like a little help in meeting people of the opposite sex- much like a catalyst in a chemical reaction).

Anyways, don't know if this is coherent, I think it was awesome. I don't know if anything will come of it, I don't care. At least someone tried to connect with little ol' me. :D

When are you taking this girl to lunch?

I have no clue yet if things are going to progress(I guess the ball is in her court? Or if I run into her again at work, I would ask her?). I'm just concerned because in the multiple times I've tried to find someone, after the first date or second date, the whole thing just dies. We'll see. I'm hopeful.

The ball is in your court - If you are a man then you need to ask her out.

Do not ask where she would like to go....

Do not ask her when she would like to go....

Do not ask if she would like to go.....

Make those decisions yourself and then, pick a place for lunch and ask her "would you like to join me for lunch at ..... on Wednesday"

If she say "I'm busy on Wednesday", then hopefully she will offer another date, if not then ask "How about Thursday".

If she says "I don't like that place", then have another ready in your mind just incase.

If she flat out and says "No", then gracefully say "thank you, I can respect that" and walk away.
