I haven't been to WP in ages, but I wanted to share this survey with the Aspergers community, since it was actually here on WP and on other autism forums that I personally first learned about asexuality years ago. While at that time I wasn't sure if I was asexual, today I consider myself a gray asexual (definitely on the asexual spectrum, but I'm going to decline calling myself an "ace" of anything ).
I was hoping that other asexual autistics would take this survey and if you too learned about asexuality from the Aspergers/autism community, say so (there is a question where you can fill that in as your answer).
Ace Community Census
Since I was dx'd in 1999, I have seen how asexuality has been an issue for many Aspies and autistics and I think the autism community needs to be represented and heard in this emerging asexual community. I mean, we were talking about it for years before all this "Asexuality Awareness" stuff.
I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm posting this in the general discusion (mods, feel free to move it as you deem fit). I didn't wish to post it in the LBGTQ+ forum as personally I do not think asexuality is a specifically LBGTQ+ issue and nor do I feel that letting the asexual community be absorbed in the LBGTQ+ community is helpful to asexual aspies like myself as that community has little interest in listening to autistic and disabled voices (I say this having watched how they treat trans people, and trans autistics in particular, and frankly if we asexuals get a vote, I don't want to be a part of that--and yes, the survey does ask your opinion on that).
Thank you, my fellow asexual autistics.
