I remember reading somewhere that aspies are not at their best in the mornings. Personally, it's the bane of my existence.

I have no problem with it, of course that may be because I don't usually get up in the morning, but go to sleep...

I don't mind the waking up bit but it takes me a couple of hours before I can eat breakfast or do much at all really.

Not sure its an Aspie trait though. Might it not depend on astrological sign or time of being born or where you live? Just throwing out other options here lol

Waking up is ok, actually getting up, getting changed, eating... having to do things when I've just woken up is horrible

I don't mind waking up. But I have to do it slowly. I have my clock radio set for 5:56 am, and I will lie in bed listening to the radio until after the 6:30 newsbreak. I need that half-hour or so to slowly "ramp up" to being fully awake. If I was to set my alarm for 6:30 and get out of bed right away, I'd still be half asleep until 7.

It literally takes every ounce of willpower for me to get up in the morning. It doesnt matter if I have to work that day, or go do something fun, it literally takes every bit of concentration and mental fortitude to convince myself to get up and get going. I will stand over my sink with the water running just telling myself over and over again that I need to get going.

I used to hate getting up. But ow I don't mind. It's part of life, I've learned to get used to it. Sure I will still wake up and want to sleep some more but hey I needed to get up and go to school, go to work. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore because I don't go into work till 2:45 but I need to be in my uniform by then so I need to get there early. I leave between 1:30 and 2:00 depending on when the bus is supposed to get here and how long it will take to get down there. But I don't let myself sleep past ten because then my day be wasted. I like to have free time and not spend it being in bed. On my work days, I still make myself get up at ten. Sometimes I will get up early because I can't go back to sleep.

It takes me at least an hour, just to get out of bed. Sometimes two. Multiple alarms. And my cat bothers me if I'm running late.

When i was little i used to wake up early, now I don't.
I am a late night person in recent years so I go to bed around 1-3 and wake up around 10. but it takes at least 1/2 for me to wake up to the point i can get out of bed.

If I'm motivated to wake up because I have something to look forward to, that's no problem. If not, then it is.

I'm okay as long as everyone leaves me alone for about a 1/2 hr. until the coffee kicks in.

I think having to get up in the morning will be my biggest difficulty in keeping a job.

What he said.
It takes forever to feel like being a part of the world.
Usually by about 6pm I'm okay, but saying I'm not a morning person is an understatement.
