Counter to the stereotype of Aspies liking very soft , easy clothes...Has anyone ever worn the " raw " sort of bluejeans that some " special " stores sell ?
I never have myself - They're described as " like the kind of bluejeans they used to make in the 50s , really stiff and scratchy , at least initially "...Are they supposed to get softer eventually , after you've " earned " it ?????
" Like wearing sandpaper next to your skin " , I've seen it described .
Perhaps there is something like a prison/military/bucking horse-riding cowboy " It's SUPPOSED to not be comfortable " (at least initially) thing intended ???
In sandals , there is a Web site for a place named Paul Taylor Sandals that I have periodically drooled over/dreamt/fantasized about for years , they malke super-expensive leather sandals that , well , the pre-made ones they sell online go for $335.00...I suppose the custom-made ones , for which you send to them and get something to have your feet traced with , would be more expensive still ???
Their copy has said that the sandals will sting/hurt , initially...Possibly you've got to " pay your dues " ???
With my amputed big toes (And the danger of still more amputations  .) , I suppose the only way I could ever hope to wear sandals again of the " around the first/second toe surrounding ", more or less , would be to be able to afford something like that :( .
I have fantasized how , if I were an eccentric millionaire , I'd " sponsor " homeless people , into getting them those custom-made stiff sandals , raw bluejeans , and ties around shirts and jackets , telling then that , if they're wearing those more formal/tighter clothes , they'll always get more money from me and my agents than if they were dressed more sloppily as homeless people trying to get money , they should be " elegant hobos " :) - and keep the promise , give them more money when they're wearing the custom stiff sandals & tight raw bluejeans and a tie around a buttoned-up shirt & jacket...Or of course fantasize myself being " sponsored " that way :) ??? Sort of " proffesorial " I guess what I'm describing - I have sometimes been homeless-called " Professor ":--...........
I wrote "bluejeans " , one word , here because I have noticed that some I suppose more " proper " " traditional English " " well-bred " publications , such as The New Yorker , still do spell the term that way , " bluejeans " , not as " blue jeans " . it's " in their stylebook " as it were   ...

I don't like stiff blue jeans or sandals. Even if you paid me a million dollars, I wouldn't wear them.

Now...being an elegant hobo has some appeal to me.

I can't stand sandals. I wear socks and sneakers when everyone else is wearing sandals unless I'm at a pool or beach. Then I wear those special "water moccasins" with thin soles and spandex that I don't have to take off while swimming. If I step on a pebble while wearing them, however, I will really feel it. If I wear sandals the straps cut into my feet and the thong between my toes jams itself between them, making every step unbearable even when it's just around the mall.

I really like blue jeans, they're about all I ever wear, but not the sandpapery raw denim variety.

The sandals I've worn have been uncomfortable to the point of pain. My skin is quite sensitive (sensory issue), which is quite common among aspies.

I thought I'd post a link ~ in case anybody wants to treat me :)  ! !! !! !! !! !!
For another kind of " minimal " shoe , though not , in fact , a sandal ~ Does anyone ever wear these shoes that are in the shape of feet , with individual portals for all five toes ? Vivram is one of the most famous companies that make these ~ The claim is that they're scientifically designed to support your feet correctly -
A lot of people in Santa Cruz wore them .
Frankly , with my 7&1/2 toes situation(and big , too) :( I rather doubt I could wear them . :(

...Extending this , I have also fantasized sponsoring homeless to wear those expensive limited-edition Air Jordans , or other expensive modern-day sneakers , the kind that people line up at shoe stores at midnight to get and often put away nonworn...Although maybe they'd get mugged/jacked for them , to believe the sterotype :x :P ! Which wouldn't be nice :( ...........

I tried on a pair of those Vibram toe shoes in a store once just out of curiosity, and found them quite uncomfortable. Maybe they'd be great once you get used to them though, kind of like flip-flops.

I trip and fall down a lot when wearing sandals and even worse with flip-flops.
