Hey guys. Recently I acquired a new obsession about something that probably won't happen unfortunately, and that's getting a reptile as a pet... but despite knowing this, I still can't keep myself from looking up the best reptile pets and reptile care. My parents are getting annoyed with me bringing it up too and I'm frustrated that I can't stop my interest in getting a new pet. I guess I just don't know how to drill it in my own mind that it's just a fantasy that won't come to be. Any advice on how to stop? :/

I had the same problem once, so I convinced myself that one day I will have a pet of my choosing. I don't know if this applies to your situation. And, I switched my focus to an interest that I could actively work with. I was able to put in the back of my mind because I knew that I would drive myself insane if I didn't.

Replace it with a new obsession. Find something else you're fascinated in to research, that's what I would do.
